SUPPLIER SELECTED / PAYMENT APPROACHING

What to ask a China supplier before you pay

A professional profile, quick replies, marketplace badge, license image, or factory video can provide useful signals, but none of them alone answers the payment decision. Start with the supplier link, quote, payment request, and the concern you already have. The Protect route helps identify what is confirmed and what still needs evidence.

This page supports a better next question, not a guarantee. Confirm sensitive payment and identity details through original records and appropriate professional checks.

THE REAL DECISION

The useful question is not “Is this supplier safe?”

No remote tool can guarantee future behavior. A better question is: which facts match, which statements are only supplier claims, and what evidence would materially improve this payment decision? The answer may be a document match, a focused supplier reply, a live piece of evidence, an inspection, or a decision to pause.

PRACTICAL ROUTE

Prepare a focused pre-payment question set

01

Identify the exact selling and receiving parties

Record the company named on the quote or PI and the stated payment beneficiary without putting full bank details into the AI form. Any unexplained entity change needs clarification.

02

Separate profile claims from order evidence

A supplier may be a real company while the product scope, production location, capacity, or promised specification remains unproven for your order.

03

Connect the evidence to the payment stage

The questions before a sample fee, tooling payment, deposit, or balance payment are different. Define the money decision first.

04

Ask a small number of consequential questions

Prioritize questions whose answers could make you proceed, pause, request more proof, arrange an onsite action, or stop.

USEFUL OUTPUT

What the Protect route can produce

  • A fact, claim, and missing-evidence summary
  • Help defining up to five questions for a separately approved manual contact task
  • A recommendation to clarify, pause, or request stronger evidence
  • A clear boundary between remote review and onsite verification

CLEAR LIMITS

What this is not

  • It is not legal due diligence, credit insurance, fraud recovery, or a supplier-safety guarantee.
  • It does not confirm product quality, regulatory compliance, future delivery, or refund outcomes.
  • Never enter full bank account numbers, passwords, IDs, signatures, or unmasked confidential documents into the AI form.

Pre-payment supplier questions

Can the route card verify whether a China supplier is real?

It can structure visible information, inconsistencies, and next questions. Formal company checks, document review, supplier contact, or an onsite visit require separate evidence and scope.

What if the beneficiary name differs from the supplier name?

Do not assume it is automatically fraudulent or acceptable. Pause and ask for the documented commercial relationship and matching order records before sending money.

Does an Alibaba verified badge make payment safe?

No single badge guarantees order performance. Review the legal entity, order scope, payment beneficiary, product evidence, sample basis, and inspection plan relevant to your transaction.

What does Supplier Contact Proof include?

The founder test covers one supplier, up to five agreed questions, up to three Chinese contact attempts, and an action log with original replies after the brief is approved. A reply or safety verdict is not guaranteed.

START WITH WHAT YOU HAVE

You do not need to have the whole project solved.
